For all computer generated artwork, please follow these guidelines:
Preferred Programs:
- Free Hand - Mac Version 4.0 or higher
- Quark XPress - Mac Version 3.0 or higher
- Photoshop - Mac Version 2.5 or higher
Accepted Programs:
- Adobe Illustrator - Mac Version 3.0 or higher
- FreeHand* - Windows Version 3.0 or higher
- Adobe Illustrator* - Windows Version 3.0 or higher
- Pagemaker - Mac Version 4.0 or higher
- Corel Draw - Windows Version 7.0 or higher
- Export files as Adobe Illustrator (AI)
- Format: Adobe Illustrator, export text as curves.
*Save Windows as Adobe Illustrator, convert text to paths.
Font Information:
Convert text to paths, curves or outlines (vector art), (text that becomes an object and can no longer be edited as text.) If this is not possible, send in screen and printer fonts used for job to be printed.
File Information:
You must include all EPS and TIFF files used for the job to be printed. We need a copy of every file used in creating the document. Always keep a copy of the file(s). DO NOT send in your only copy! We can accept compressed files: Stuffit (Mac); .zip (DOS)
Color Information:
When assigning a color to art or text, please use a Pantone color. Please indicate the exact color number needed for Pantone colors. Not all color can be achieved in four color process. It may be necessary to add an additional screen to achieve an exact color.
Accepted File Storage:
- Macintosh or DOS formatted - 3.5" Diskettes
- Macintosh or DOS formatted - Iomega ZIP drives, 100mb
- Macintosh or DOS formatted - CD-ROM
NOTE: Following these instructions does not guarantee the art will output. If any of the above are not possible, please send in Camera Ready Art (Film or print).
Additional Information:
Please mail the following information with your disk when sending computer generated art. It is important that you include a hard copy of the artwork and special instructions.
A composite proof and separated color separations are also beneficial. Please send the latest version of disk art and label each color by the exact Pantone number wanted.
Computer generated artwork is simply a matter of saving and copying onto a disk. Remember: Do not send an original file - make a COPY!
